Mirror Mirror

I primarily work in black and white mostly in woodcuts, intaglio and charcoal drawings. I enjoy the resistance that carving into wood or metal gives. The piece I have submitted to the Bio Mimicry call investigates the psychological mimicry seen in the rows of concrete sculptures. Although they are technically nearly identical as forms, this piece addresses the near likeness, but not-the-sameness of each figure. The title "Mirror Mirror" plays with us seeing what we want to or perceive to be so.
